Serata piacevolmente inaspettata all’Elefante Rosso. Quando pensi di andare a vedere un concerto di hip hop dal futuro e sul palco ti trovi una batteria e un pianoforte a coda. Rimaniunpospiazzato!
Fraseggi post-bop alla McCoy Tyner su strutture ritmiche free all’inizio e sempre più funk verso la seconda metà del live, smooth e secche allo stesso tempo. Il nostro DC (Oliver Johnson) è infatti affiancato da Clemens alla batteria, vecchio compagno di jam casalinghe dai tempi delle superiori. Pura improvvisazione quindi per buona parte del concerto; poi, verso la fine, il pubblico ha modo di apprezzare alcuni pezzi dell’album When Planets Explode (uscito a gennaio ’08) riproposti e riarrangiati assai taglienti e raffinati, e infine qualche prodezza digitale del solo Oliver su laptop e keyboard.
Era un concerto Hip Hop dal Futuro… nel futuro ci sarà ancora il pianoforte e la batteria.. oltre ai synth e le nuove technologie
